About the Role:
We are seeking a patient-focused team member with a background in eye care, healthcare, or patient services.
This role is a strong fit for:
- Ophthalmic or Optometric Technicians
- Opticians or Optical Sales Professionals
- LPNs (Licensed Practical Nurses) looking for a more predictable schedule and a patient-focused outpatient setting
You will play a key role in both clinical care and patient experience, helping patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout their visit.
No prior eye care experience? That’s okay — we will train the right person with a strong clinical or patient care background.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Support
- Take patient medical and ocular histories
- Perform preliminary testing (training provided as needed):
- Visual acuity
- Autorefraction & topography
- Tonometry
- Document accurately in EMR systems
- Assist providers with patient flow and procedures
Patient Care & Education (Great Fit for LPNs)
- Educate patients on procedures, findings, and next steps
- Provide a calm, reassuring experience for patients
- Answer questions and anticipate patient needs
- Support follow-up care and patient understanding
Optical / Retail Support (if applicable)
- Assist with frame and lens selection
- Educate on lens options and coatings
- Adjust and fit eyewear
Advanced Testing (Preferred, Not Required)
- OCT
- Visual fields
- Retinal imaging
- Dry eye testing
What We’re Looking For:
- Background in healthcare, eye care, or patient-facing roles
- LPN license OR experience as a technician/optician preferred
- Strong patient communication and bedside manner
- Comfortable learning new clinical skills and equipment
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Team-oriented and positive attitude
