Job DescriptionAccounts Payable Clerk
We are seeking two experienced Accounts Payable Specialists to join a high-volume, fast-paced team. The ideal candidates must be highly detail-oriented, efficient, and able to hit the ground running with minimal training. This role involves extensive data entry, processing, and reconciliation responsibilities, requiring exceptional accuracy and focus.
Location: Somerset, NJSchedule: Monday-Friday - 7 am - 5 pmPay rate: $21-$23/hr
Duties:
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
- Analyze invoices and expense reports to assign charges to appropriate accounts and cost centers
- Process vendor payments, including scheduling, preparing checks, and resolving discrepancies (e.g., purchase order, contract, or invoice issues)
- Monitor vendor accounts to take advantage of payment discounts and ensure timely payments
- Handle employee expense reports and requests for advances; prepare corresponding payments
- Issue stop-payments or amendments as needed
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance throughout the payment process
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the integrity of financial records
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and workflows
- Process customer credits and manage outstanding memos
Requirements:
- 4+ years of recent Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume setting
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft or similar platforms
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable with large volumes of data entry and tight deadlines
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving procedures
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
