Aerospace Production & Inventory Control Assistant
Department: Production, Parts & Inventory
Reports To: Parts Department Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Aerospace Production & Inventory Control Assistant supports manufacturing operations by coordinating work orders, managing parts flow, and maintaining inventory accuracy within the company’s Product Manufacturing System (PMS). This position ensures materials and components are available for production schedules, supporting the assembly and repair of aerospace components in compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Work Order Coordination:
- Create, track, and close work orders in the Product Manufacturing System for production and assembly activities.
- Ensure that all necessary documentation, material kits, and routing information are complete and accurate.
- Communicate with production leads to monitor progress and resolve order discrepancies.
Parts and Materials Handling:
- Assist the Parts Department in picking, staging, and issuing materials to production lines.
- Support receiving, labeling, and proper storage of aerospace components and materials.
- Ensure part traceability and documentation meet aerospace quality requirements (AS9100, FAA, etc.).
Inventory Control:
- Maintain accurate inventory levels within the PMS by performing data entry, cycle counts, and physical verifications.
- Identify shortages, overages, or discrepancies and assist in corrective actions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of material handling and inventory accuracy processes.
Cross-Functional Support:
- Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and quality departments to ensure timely material availability and data integrity.
- Support process improvements in workflow efficiency, inventory management, and production planning.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, inventory control, or production support.
- Experience using Product Manufacturing Systems (ERP/MRP) such as SAP, JobBOSS, Quick Aviation Citrix or similar Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
- Familiarity with AS9100 or FAA regulatory requirements a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks in a production setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
