About Us
Bexar County Master Gardeners (BCMG) is a volunteer educational arm of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Our mission is to educate our community and surrounding areas on water conservation and research-based gardening practices and techniques as developed by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of the Texas A&M University System. We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Office Administrator to help keep our operations running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys supporting a mission-driven team.
Responsibilities
- Manage office operations, including phones, email, mail, and supplies
- Maintain digital and physical records, databases, and files
- Provide administrative support to the President and Treasurer
- Performs bookkeeping, sales tax reporting, and payroll processing to include quarterly and annual tax filings. Responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Perform inventory tracking and check-in/check-out process for equipment
- Serve as the first point of contact for office visitors and inquiries
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with office management, bookkeeping, or nonprofit administration preferred, experience with QuickBooks a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be a self-starter, work independently and handle multiple priorities
- Detail-oriented with problem-solving skills
- Commitment to the mission and values of BCMG
Compensation
- Salary: $20 per hour
- Hours: Up to 15 hours per week with work on Monday and Friday required
