Psychiatric / Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
Union, New Jersey | Full-Time | Monday–Friday Daytime Schedule
Base Salary: $130,000 – $150,000 + Bonus
No Nights | No Weekends
About the Opportunity
A growing multidisciplinary healthcare organization is seeking a compassionate and clinically strong Psychiatric / Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join its expanding behavioral health team in Union, New Jersey.
This role will play a key part in treating patients with depression and related mental health conditions, while also supporting individuals navigating chronic pain and spine disorders and serving as a major contributor to a growing Spravato (Esketamine) treatment program.
The organization operates with a collaborative care model alongside specialists in neurosurgery, interventional pain management, orthopedics, psychiatry, vascular surgery, physical therapy, and chiropractic medicine, providing continuity of care and comprehensive support for every patient.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Diagnose and manage behavioral health conditions related to chronic pain and spine disorders
• Provide medication management and therapeutic interventions
• Collaborate closely with pain management physicians, spine specialists, physical therapists, and care coordinators
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Evaluate patients for candidacy for Spravato treatment and ongoing psychiatric care
• Provide ongoing medication management and follow-up care for psychiatric patients, including those receiving Spravato
• Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation
• Educate patients on coping strategies, treatment options, and wellness practices
• Participate in case conferences and quality improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and clinical standards
• Support the growth of the behavioral health treatment program and help strengthen referral relationships locally
Qualifications
• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing
• Current PMHNP certification required
• Active New Jersey Nurse Practitioner license required
• Outpatient psychiatric experience strongly preferred
• Experience with talk therapy, psychotherapy, or counseling approaches is a plus
• Experience treating Major Depressive Disorder and/or Treatment-Resistant Depression strongly preferred
• Familiarity with chronic pain patient populations strongly preferred
• Prior Spravato / Esketamine experience highly preferred
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Compassionate, patient-centered clinical approach
• Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently
• Interest in helping grow a behavioral health treatment program strongly preferred
Compensation & Benefits
