A dynamic opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Stepdown experience in Saint Peters, MO. This contract role offers the chance to provide specialized care in a medically advanced environment focused on patients with complex respiratory needs. The position is based on the 6 East Med Surg Intermediate unit, a 22-bed area known for its respiratory-heavy patient population and advanced technologies.
Key Qualifications:
- Current RN license eligible for Missouri or already licensed in Missouri.
- Minimum one year of Stepdown inpatient nursing experience.
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
- Proficient with trach, ventilator, BiPAP, and VAPO equipment.
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, dependable, and flexible manner.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Manage and coordinate comprehensive nursing care for patients with conditions such as respiratory failure, overdose, GI bleed, electrolyte imbalance, COPD, and cancer.
- Utilize critical thinking to provide complex nursing interventions in compliance with professional standards and facility protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold patient rights.
Schedule & Assignment Details:
- Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
- Weekly hours: 36 or 48 (to be specified upon submission).
- Assignment duration: 13 weeks.
- Weekend work as needed, approximately every other weekend.
- No call requirements.
