TITLE: Medical Device Technician
LOCATION: Plymouth, MN
ANTICIPATED DURATION: 6 Month Contract to Hire
Synergis’ client, a leading veterinary health company, has engaged us in a search for a Medical Device Technician to augment their growing team to launch a new product! The Medical Device Technician is responsible for building medical products according to plans, schematics, and operating manuals.
Medical Device Technician Responsibilities:
- Interpret assembly drawings and written instructions to build, calibrate, align, operate, and maintain diagnostic medical instruments.
- Review diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation to assemble electro-mechanical devices.
- Perform device setup, calibration, and functional testing during the manufacturing process.
- Clean, troubleshoot, and repair instruments down to the component level.
- Conduct testing of electro-mechanical assemblies and subassemblies in accordance with acceptance procedures and specifications.
- Identify and resolve equipment, device, and product failures or malfunctions.
- Escalate issues with processes, equipment, or materials to management.
- Operate and maintain manufacturing machinery and related equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on beta testing of new products and enhancements to existing systems.
- Contribute to deviation investigations, audits, and compliance inspections.
Medical Device Technician Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Vocational or Trade School program or relevant technical training preferred.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience working with progressively complex instruments and devices.
- Ability to interpret and work from electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Strong manual dexterity with the ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Effective communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $23-26/hour (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
