Radiologic Technologist – General Radiography (Night Shift)
Location: Bronx, NY
Type: Contract
Pay: $50.00/hr – $65.00/hr
Shift & Schedule: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM | 5 Days Per Week | Weekends & Holidays Required
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist to provide diagnostic imaging services during overnight operations in a busy acute care hospital environment. This role supports inpatient, emergency department, and critical care imaging needs while ensuring exceptional image quality, patient safety, and adherence to radiation protection standards.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently on night shifts and capable of managing urgent imaging requests in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations for inpatient and emergency department patients.
• Operate radiology equipment safely and efficiently.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images in accordance with departmental protocols.
• Respond promptly to urgent and stat imaging requests.
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety and patient protection standards.
• Verify patient identity and explain procedures to patients as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate imaging documentation and patient records.
• Monitor equipment performance and report operational concerns.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to support patient care.
• Maintain quality assurance and infection prevention standards.
Required Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Active ARRT (R) Certification.
• Valid New York State Radiologic Technologist License.
• Minimum 1 year of general radiography experience.
• Ability to work independently during overnight operations.
• Strong knowledge of radiographic procedures, anatomy, and patient safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications
• Acute care hospital experience.
• Emergency Department imaging experience.
• Trauma imaging experience.
• Experience with electronic medical record and PACS systems.
• Strong critical-thinking and communication skills.
