Job Description

About the Company

Our client is a premier general contractor with a proven track record of delivering tens of thousands of multifamily units across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. They build everything from garden-style apartments and student housing to retirement communities, high-density, and mixed-use developments—and have a reputation for finishing on time and within budget.

This is a company where quality, fairness, and integrity are more than values—they are the foundation of decades-long client relationships and a culture where team members stay and grow. They invest in their people through a dedicated in-house training academy and a clear career advancement path.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a construction professional with experience on large-scale projects ($20M+) to join the team as an Assistant Project Manager. This position offers direct exposure to both the administrative and field sides of construction management, working alongside seasoned leaders in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

You will be the main on-site point of contact for the project, working closely with the Project Superintendent and Executive Project Manager to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with estimating during preconstruction to review plans, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Create scopes of work that capture both company and contractual standards.
  • Manage procurement of subcontractors, materials, and equipment.
  • Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, and document flow.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, architects, engineers, and vendors to ensure successful delivery.
  • Monitor budgets, schedules, and quality benchmarks.
  • Support field operations by partnering with the Superintendent on daily site activities.
  • Foster positive client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years in construction project management (multifamily preferred, wood-frame experience a plus).
  • Experience with projects $20M+.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software (Procore experience ideal).
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven track record of problem-solving and delivering results under pressure.

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • High-Impact Projects: Be part of large-scale, high-profile builds that shape communities.
  • Professional Growth: Access to advanced training through a structured development program.
  • Stability & Reputation: Join a company consistently ranked among the top multifamily builders in the region.
  • People-First Culture: Leadership that values fairness, respect, and doing things right the first time.

Compensation

Competitive salary + full benefits package

This isn’t just a job—it’s a career accelerator. If you have large-project experience and are ready to join a company where you can grow your skills and your influence, let’s talk.
