Lawyers on Demand is currently seeking a contract Legal Billing Specialist for a fully on site assignment with a prestigious law firm client.
Preferred applicants will have 3-5 years of relevant legal billing experience, ideally in a law firm environment.
- Location: On site in Washington, DC
- Duration: 1 month, potential for extension
- Pay: $30-35/hour
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue invoices to clients in a timely manner
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial records
- Maintain detailed records of billing transactions and customer interactions
- Utilize accounting software such as Aderant
- Assist in resolving billing discrepancies
- Conduct analysis of financial data to identify trends and improve billing processes
- Prepare reports to show unbilled fees, disbursement summaries, and other financial data
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and Excel skills.
- Attention to detail and high-level problem solving skills.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines with an accurate work product and prioritize workload appropriately.
- Ability to work, interact, and communicate with business services employees at all levels and attorneys.
- Take initiative beyond routine responsibility.
- Reliability, dependability, and strong motivation to respond to requests quickly.
- Experience working independently, as well as within cross-functional teams, in a collaborative, professional environment.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- College degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred, preferably in a professional services environment.
- Law Firm Accounting/Finance experience preferred.
- Experience with ProLaw and/or Aderant highly preferred
