Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years ER RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Deliver high-quality nursing care in a dynamic emergency room setting, supporting multiple departments including Emergency Departments and Inpatient care (IMC/ICU) according to your expertise. This role offers an opportunity to practice independently while developing advanced clinical nursing skills to manage complex patient care situations effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and therapeutic effectiveness.
- Document patient histories, symptoms, medications, and care accurately.
- Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers, identifying relevant issues and resources.
- Meet expectations of nursing competencies, including leadership and clinical management.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in emergency nursing or a related specialty preferred.
- Current RN license in Texas or compact state.
- Certification requirements: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (all from AHA).
- Completion of New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days (for newly hired RNs).
- Participation in residency or specific orientation programs as applicable.
- Commitment to annual competency validation.
Work Schedule:
- 12-hour night shifts, 6 PM to 6 AM.
- Full-time contract position with floating responsibilities across EDs and inpatient units depending on volume.
