The CDL Driver Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, attracting, and hiring qualified CDL drivers for the company. The primary objective of this role is to ensure a consistent pipeline of qualified candidates and effectively manage the recruiting process from the initial contact through the hiring decision.

The recruiter works closely with the Operations and Safety departments to ensure compliance with company requirements, insurance standards, and regulatory guidelines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Actively source and attract CDL drivers through various channels including recruiting platforms, job boards, social media, referrals, and direct outreach
  • Conduct initial candidate screenings and evaluate driver qualifications based on company requirements
  • Maintain consistent communication with candidates throughout the recruiting process
  • Provide candidates with clear information regarding job opportunities, compensation, work conditions, and company expectations
  • Coordinate candidate communication and collaboration with Safety and Operations teams for further evaluation
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in recruiting systems and databases
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with drivers and industry networks
  • Monitor the driver labor market and utilize effective sourcing strategies to identify potential candidates
  • Ensure compliance with DOT requirements, company policies, and applicable federal and state regulations during the recruiting process
  • Prepare regular reports on recruiting activity and candidate pipeline status


Qualifications

  • Previous experience in recruiting, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry
  • Understanding of CDL driver requirements and trucking industry hiring practices is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships with candidates
  • Ability to manage multiple candidates and tasks simultaneously
  • Experience working with recruiting systems ( Tenstreet, BambooHR)
  • Strong organizational skills and results-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
