Project Accountant - Construction
Salary Range: $60K-$80K
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will manage financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This role is critical in supporting project managers and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow for construction projects.
- Prepare and review financial reports, including profit and loss statements, project cost reports, and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with project managers to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures as well as construction industry regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of project financial proposals and bids.
- Perform reconciliation of project accounts and ensure timely invoicing and collections.
- Track changes in project scope, schedule, and costs and communicate implications to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a focus on project accounting in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
