Job Title: Finance Manager
Overview:
A high-performing real estate development firm is seeking a Finance Manager to join their finance team. This is an individual contributor role to start, with the potential to grow into a supervisory position. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in public accounting and hands-on FP&A experience, ideally within real estate development or related sectors. You'll report to a seasoned financial leader with a Big 4 background and join a dynamic, growth-focused environment with national recognition and global backing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans for residential projects.
- Build and maintain complex financial models, including cash flows, IRR, ROI, and scenario analyses.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Development, Operations, and Asset Management teams.
- Analyze financial performance vs. budgets/forecasts and provide actionable insights.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly executive reports, dashboards, and profitability analysis.
- Support capital planning, joint ventures, and investor reporting.
- Coordinate with accounting for accurate financial reporting and accruals.
- Implement process improvements and automation in financial planning systems.
- Provide insights on market trends impacting the housing industry.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 2+ years in a Big 4 or national CPA firm.
- Minimum 2 years of direct FP&A experience, preferably in residential real estate or development.
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (Excel expertise required).
- Familiarity with financial systems such as Newstar is a plus.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Highly analytical, collaborative, and detail-oriented.
- Passion for innovation, process improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
PAY TRANSPARENCY: The estimated annual pay range for this position is $140,000 – $160,000, plus a 25% target bonus. Actual compensation will be determined by the hiring authority and may vary depending on qualifications and other factors relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
