Location: U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters, Washington, DC (On-Site)

Position Summary

Vision IT is seeking a Business Intelligence Systems Technical Training Specialist to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG) by delivering technical training and user support for Coast Guard Business Intelligence (BI) systems. The successful candidate will provide instructor-led training, develop instructional materials, and support end users across military and civilian organizations. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and flexibility to support a demanding travel schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom, virtual, and on-site technical training on U.S. Coast Guard Business Intelligence systems.
  • Provide functional and technical user support to military and civilian personnel.
  • Develop, maintain, and update training materials, lesson plans, user guides, and other instructional resources.
  • Customize training content to meet the needs of diverse user communities and mission requirements.
  • Support the Business Intelligence Systems Support and Outreach Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing training events.
  • Coordinate training logistics and manage multiple training engagements, including extensive travel.
  • Communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Stay current on system enhancements, new capabilities, and policy changes, incorporating updates into training materials and presentations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience.
  • Experience delivering training, teaching, public speaking, or facilitating technical instruction.
  • U.S. citizen or legal resident authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently in support of program requirements.

  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and public speaking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to support extensive travel and changing training schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with U.S. Coast Guard Business Intelligence systems.
  • Familiarity with Coast Guard metrics, reporting, and performance measurement processes.
  • Experience using Business Intelligence tools, including IBM Cognos and Qlik.
  • Military experience or prior experience supporting Department of Defense or other federal agencies is highly desirable.
