Job DescriptionController (Manufacturing Finance) – San Diego, CA (Hybrid)Overview
We are partnering with a well-established, global industrial manufacturing organization to hire a Controller to lead finance for one of its largest and most strategic business segments (~$200M+ in revenue).
This is a high-visibility, hands-on leadership role where you’ll own the full financial picture—partnering closely with operations, driving performance, and building a high-impact finance function.

What You’ll Own
- Full ownership of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
- Lead a fast-paced month-end close (1–3 days)
- Drive forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning
- Oversee cost accounting operations, including:
- Standard costing
- BOM structures
- Inventory and cost flow
- Purchase price variance (PPV) & manufacturing variances
- Own inventory accounting and controls (valuation, cycle counts, reserves)
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and revenue recognition standards
- Partner with operations to improve:
- Profitability
- Working capital
- Cost visibility
- Lead and develop a distributed finance team (U.S. + global support)
- Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies
What We’re Looking ForCore Experience
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance within manufacturing
- Experience as a:
- Accounting Manager
- senior Accounting Manager
- Assistant Controller
- or similar progression into leadership
- Strong cost accounting foundation:
- Standard costing (required)
- BOMs / cost structures
- Inventory and variance analysis
- Deep understanding of cost flow through financial statements
- Experience owning or heavily contributing to month-end close
- Background in inventory-intensive environments

Compensation
- Base salary: $170,000 – $200,000

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $170000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
