Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 Special Education Teacher position is available for the upcoming school year at a public school on Hilton Head Island, SC. This contract role offers an opportunity to support students with diverse learning needs by delivering specialized instruction and fostering an inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet each student's unique abilities and goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies to enhance learning and behavioral outcomes
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all special education regulations and policies
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
Qualifications:
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with students across K-12 grade levels
- Knowledge of IEP development, special education laws, and instructional best practices
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to create an engaging, supportive learning environment responsive to diverse student needs
