Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dentist during clinical procedures, ensure patient comfort, and help maintain a clean, efficient, and well-organized treatment environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures and exams
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials
- Take dental X-rays (per state requirements)
- Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards
- Seat patients and explain procedures to help reduce anxiety
- Chart dental findings and update patient records
- Manage clinical supplies and inventory
- Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control guidelines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Familiarity with Dentrix Ascend
- Dental Assistant certification or training program preferred
- X-ray certification (required or preferred, depending on state)
- Previous dental assisting experience preferred
- Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and terminology
- Familiarity with dental software (Dentrix Ascend.)
- Minimum 6 months to 5+ years in dental assisting, with preference for oral surgery/implant environments.
- Expanded Functions (EFDA)
- Experience with digital workflow
