Position Overview and Qualifications
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-focused care tailored to the specific needs of the department, adhering to the standards and scope of practice relevant to the state and specialty. Working collaboratively with healthcare providers and the care team, the RN offers personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, utilizing established nursing frameworks such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN acts as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization’s vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes, thereby contributing to the overall success of the department.
- Regularly assesses patient pain to ensure effective pain management, including follow-up evaluations after interventions.
- Executes procedures, monitoring, or other tasks as directed by medical providers, documenting care in the patient’s medical record promptly and thoroughly.
- Delivers outstanding care by responding swiftly to patient requests and proactively anticipating and addressing their needs.
- Educates patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up actions, simplifying complex medical terminology for better understanding.
- Instructs patients, families, and caregivers on non-pharmaceutical follow-up measures, such as healthy eating, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications, preparing them for self-management.
Required Qualifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within six months of starting employment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training must be completed within six months of employment.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or RN Diploma.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course or Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification must be obtained within one year of starting employment.
- No travel is required.
- No prior experience is necessary.
