Job Summary – L&D RN (Travel Contract)

Start Date: ASAP
Orientation: Every Monday

Shift & Weekly Hours

• Shift Options:
  • Days: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Nights: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Typical Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts/week)

Weekend Requirement

• Minimum 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
• Weekend distribution is flexible as long as coverage is met.

Call Requirement

• 1 on-call shift per 4-week schedule

Floating

• May float to:
  • Emergency Department (ED)
  • Med-Surg unit
    (if experienced)

Unit Details

• 7 L&D beds
• 2 Triage beds
• 10 Postpartum beds
• 1–3 births per day
• ~830 births per year

Patient Ratio:

• Typically 1:2

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring

Experience Requirements

• Minimum: 2–3 years L&D experience
• Must Have:
  • C-Section experience
  • Strong fetal monitoring interpretation
  • Experience managing high-risk pregnancies
  • Experience treating pre-eclampsia

Unit Support

• Respiratory Therapist 24/7
• OB Scrub Tech
• Patient Care Technician
• Health Unit Secretary
• Pharmacy 24/7
• Nurse Manager assists with patients when needed
