Key Responsibilities
- Delivering Food: Bring hot plates straight from the kitchen to the tables. Make sure the right meals go to the right guests.
- Clearing Tables: Remove used plates, glasses, and silverware. Take them to the dishwashing area.
- Setting Tables: Wipe down tables. Lay down clean napkins, utensils, and glasses for the next guests.
- Assisting Servers: Help the waitstaff. Refill water glasses, restock napkins, and clear away trash.
- Stocking: Keep condiment bottles full and service stations clean. [1, 2]
Requirements and Qualifications
- Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for many hours. You must carry heavy trays.
- Speed: Work fast during busy meal times.
- Teamwork: Work well with chefs, servers, and other staff members.
- Hygiene: Know food and safety rules.
