This is a full-time in-office position at our 8622 N Himes Ave office in Tampa, Florida. The Mortgage Underwriting Assistant will support underwriters by preparing, organizing, and reviewing loan files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company guidelines, investor requirements, and applicable industry regulations.
Compensation:
$40,000 - $52,000 yearly
Responsibilities:
- Assisting underwriters in gathering, reviewing, and verifying loan documentation
- Ensuring accuracy and completeness of all loan files
- Preparing files for underwriting review
- Communicating with loan officers, processors, and other team members to resolve outstanding conditions
- Maintaining compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in mortgage lending, underwriting, or processing
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with mortgage software systems and Microsoft Office Suite
