Job DescriptionConstruction Superintendent
A well-established and growing general contracting firm is seeking a Superintendent to oversee daily field operations on commercial construction projects. This position plays a critical role in coordinating jobsite activities, managing subcontractors, and ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules and quality standards. - Provide day-to-day supervision and leadership for assigned construction sites
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, and direct all field activities and subcontractor work
- Establish and enforce project safety plans and ensure OSHA compliance
- Lead on-site meetings with subcontractors, owners, inspectors, and trade partners
- Maintain jobsite discipline and enforce company policies and procedures
- Coordinate material deliveries and confirm availability aligns with project schedule
- Enforce quality control standards per plans, specifications, and local building codes
- Ensure proper job sequencing and efficient workflow across all trades
- Serve as primary field liaison with owners and occupants as applicable
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including daily reports and jobsite photos
- Monitor subcontractor progress and performance
- Assist with CPM schedules and prepare 3-week look-ahead schedules
- Implement project schedules to meet milestone and completion deadlines
- Prepare and process RFIs and assist with field issue resolution
- Identify potential change orders and back charges
- Supervise company field labor and third-party hourly personnel as needed
- Maintain accurate as-built drawings
- Travel to and report at various job locations as assigned
Qualifications:
- 5 to 10 years of experience as a Superintendent or similar field leadership role in general construction
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, field operations, and subcontractor coordination
- Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with the project team
