New York Lung & Thoracic is a growing pulmonary practice seeking a per diem Respiratory Therapist to support in-office pulmonary diagnostics and patient care. This role is ideal for a motivated respiratory therapist interested in contributing to a developing practice, with the opportunity to transition into a more consistent, long-term position as patient volume expands.

Responsibilities

• Perform pulmonary function testing, including spirometry using a Vyntus system
• Calibrate and maintain equipment (e.g., 3L syringe calibration, daily quality checks)
• Instruct and coach patients to ensure accurate and reproducible test results
• Document results and assist with integration into the EHR (Practice Fusion)
• Prepare patients for pulmonary evaluations, including vital signs and focused intake
• Support clinical workflow in coordination with the physician
• Assist with infection control protocols and equipment sanitation
• Participate in initial device training and serve as a point person for spirometry operations

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist in New York (RRT or CRT)
• Experience with spirometry and pulmonary function testing preferred
• Strong patient communication and coaching skills
• Comfortable working in a startup or early-stage clinical environment
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
• Familiarity with EHR systems (Practice Fusion or similar) is a plus

Schedule

Per diem (approximately 5 per week to start)
