Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Transform the learning experience for elementary students as a school psychologist in a rewarding long-term substitute role. This full-time, in-person opportunity runs from August through Christmas break, with the potential for extension. Located in the beautiful East Lyme area, you’ll partner closely with educators and families to support student development.
You’ll play a vital role in providing psychological services, conducting assessments, developing interventions, and assisting in the creation of supportive educational environments. Key Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut School Psychologist certification required
- Master’s or Specialist degree in School Psychology or related field
- Previous experience at the elementary level strongly preferred
- Proficient in conducting psychoeducational evaluations and interpreting results
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Commitment to cultural competence and equity in educational practices
Main Responsibilities:
- Administer and interpret cognitive, social-emotional, and behavioral assessments
- Develop and help implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Make data-driven recommendations for student support and interventions
- Provide consultation services to school staff and parents
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Deliver crisis intervention and counseling as needed
- Promote a positive school climate and advocate for student well-being
