Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Step-Down

Location: Neptune, New Jersey
Duration: 13 Weeks

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Cardiac Vascular and Post-Surgical Step-Down unit within a leading acute care hospital. The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered care for patients requiring close monitoring and specialized nursing interventions while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and identify priorities for care.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions in accordance with physician orders.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.
• Manage the care of cardiac, vascular, and post-surgical patients in a step-down setting.
• Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with nursing standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes.
• Promote evidence-based nursing practices and quality patient care initiatives.
• Provide compassionate, patient-focused care while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit within a major acute care hospital.
• Strong Medical-Surgical and Telemetry background required.
• Neuro experience required.
• Experience with Epic charting required.

Preferred Experience

• Ventilator management experience.
• Post-cardiac surgery experience.
• Post-surgical patient care experience.

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Certifications & Licensure

• Active New Jersey RN License or Compact RN License.
• ACLS (AHA).
• BLS (AHA).
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Telemetry Certification.
• Stroke Education/CEU (4 Contact Hours).
