Position Summary:
- Operate truck and sweeper unit proficiently and safely.
- Prioritize safety in all operational tasks.

- Capable of problem solving and completing tasks with minimal supervision while fostering inclusivity and diversity in the workplace.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Clearing trash, debris, snow and contaminants from streets and curbs.
- Securely fastening vehicle attachments such as brush hogs and hydraulic hoses.
- Filling the street sweeper's water tanks, operating rotary brushes, and water spray controls.
- Adhering to traffic safety regulations by using appropriate signaling and signage.
- Ability to use controls to activate rotary brushes and water spray to pick up dust and trash from paved streets deposited in dirt trap at rear of machine.
- Maintaining street sweeper vehicles and equipment by performing standard checks.
- Pulls lever to dump refuse in piles at curb for removal.
- Performs daily pre-post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines.
- Check fluid levels, tires, lights, and other controls for safe operation.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- CDL Class B or greater certification.
- Must have a clean driving record and background.
- Demonstrates a positive and proactive attitude towards tasks.
- Exhibits exceptional customer service skills .
- Possesses strong written and verbal communication abilities, fostering understanding across diverse audiences.
- Proficient in basic troubleshooting and mechanical skills, promoting inclusivity and accessibility in problem-solving approaches.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
Physical Requirements:
- Cleaning potential road hazards (e.g. debris, rocks, mud, dirt, sand, gravel, plastic, roofing, etc.) off of can slides, rails and doors as well as track bumpers, truck fenders, truck wheels and truck frame rails.
- Cleaning of potential road hazards on trucks will need to be cleaned off prior to leaving job site or yard.
- Climbing attached metal fabricated ladder on the front right of the can to inspect the interior of the can for non-approved materials, persons or animals inside.
