Job Title: Welder / Fitter
Location: Akron, Ohio
Pay: $24–$28 per hour (based on experience)
Position Overview:
A growing manufacturing company in Akron is seeking an experienced Welder/Fitter to join their team immediately. This role involves both fitting and welding components using blueprints and provided parts. The ideal candidate is comfortable reading prints, fitting materials together accurately, and completing high-quality welds.
Schedule:
- Standard shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Overtime available before or after the standard shift
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints to properly fit and assemble metal components
- Fit provided parts together prior to welding
- Perform primarily MIG welding, with occasional tasks where TIG experience is helpful
- Weld steel and Flexcore materials
- Inspect welds to ensure quality and structural integrity
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
Requirements:
- Prior welding and fitting experience
- Ability to read and work from blueprints
- Must bring your own welding helmet
- Must pass a weld test prior to hire
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
Compensation & Benefits:
- $24–$28/hour, depending on experience
- Overtime opportunities available
