Title: Document Remediation & Training Specialist
Job Description: Global Resource Solutions, Inc. (GRS) is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and talented individual for the position of Document Remediation & Training Specialist.
Job Description:
Summary: The Document Remediation & Training Specialist will remediate content as needed with a working knowledge of Section 508 compliance and accessibility guidelines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor and stay up to date with latest industry trends, advancements in technology, and evolution of federal accessibility rules, regulations, and guidance
- Collaborate with delivery teams to review and ensure deliverables such as PDF, PPT, Excel and Word files are Section 508 compliant and adhere to other applicable accessibility laws Serve as Section 508 coordinator and subject matter expert on all 508 issues; participate in working groups and/or meetings with stakeholders to discuss requirements and/or present 508 strategies and solutions; provide guidance on technical issues involving Section 508 as it relates to accessible documents and electronic media
- Assist in developing a Section 508 compliance program by ensuring company policies and procedures are consistent with federal and departmental policies and industry best practices
- Assist in the development and application of Section 508 training programs to instruct delivery teams on how to develop Section 508 compliant products
- Design and develop document and file templates that adhere to accessibility guidelines
- Track and log document and template changes and provide reports as requested
- Advise staff on policy and best practices for creating accessible materials
- Work with staff to streamline related processes, including web requests, document submissions, remediation, and approvals
- Create document accessibility reference guides and other instructional materials as needed
Requirement:
- HS Diploma – AA Degree preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience evaluating and remediating electronic documents and forms for Section 508 standards (including Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF
Skills:
- Ability to provide verbal and written instruction on evaluating and remediating electronic documents and forms for Section 508 standards (including Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF).
- Broad knowledge of the Accessibility Tests for Documents (endorsed by the Federal CIO Council Community of Practice)
- Must be detail oriented with ability to multi-task.
Physical Requirements: This position requires employees to be willing and able to: sit, bend, reach, stoop, squat, stand, and walk.
Communication:Excellent customer service via phone and face to face conversation, excellent written and oral command of English.
