Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available for the current school year in Hayward, CA. This contract role supports K-12 students with moderate to severe communication needs in a structured school setting.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to a caseload of 15-20 students with moderate to severe needs
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with applicable guidelines
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary approaches to student support
- Maintain a positive and engaging learning environment focused on student growth and communication skills
Qualifications:
- Valid certification and credentials as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
- Experience working in a school setting supporting K-12 students preferred
- Ability to manage a caseload independently with strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of strategies and techniques to support students with moderate to severe communication challenges
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families
Additional Details:
- Job duration through the current school year, with possibility of extension based on performance and mutual agreement
- Full-time position, 5 days per week, 40 hours total
- Assignments located in Santa Clara or Sunnyvale, with each day at a single location and no travel between sites required
- Focus is on service provision; voice output communication aids (VOCO) are not utilized at this time
