- Job Details
- Performs ultrasound studies including Abdomen, OB/GYN, Pediatric, Basic Vascular, and small parts.
- May perform interventional procedures.
- Ensures patient identification and preparation, obtains relevant patient history, and reviews clinical data for accurate interpretation.
- Explains exams to patients considering physical and emotional needs while maintaining ethical standards.
- Delivers patient care within scope of license and training.
- Utilizes universal precautions and safety techniques.
- Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment, reporting malfunctions as needed.
- Rotates within department and off-site clinics by shifts as required.
- Maintains effective communication with hospital personnel.
- Executes paperwork, PACS, RIS, and reporting functions for each exam.
- Prepares equipment, room, and supplies for patient exams.
- Keeps up to date on imaging techniques and participates in education programs.
- Transports and transfers patients according to departmental guidelines.
- Uses independent judgment and initiative under pressure.
- Performs other duties as directed.
- Job Requirements
- Graduated from an AMA accredited Ultrasound Program with minimum 12 months full-time clinical ultrasound experience.
- Must meet requirements and successfully complete ARDMS certification (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers).
- Schedule Information
- Rotates within department, divisions, and off-site clinics by shifts as required and needed.
- Additional Details
- MGB NWH Self-Study Orientation & Attestation required for onboarding.
- Fit Test (N95) within 365 days of start date and updated annually.
- Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity required.
- Hepatitis B vaccination strongly preferred.
- TB test documentation within 3 months of start date and updated if break >6 months.
- Health Statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date and updated if break >6 months.
- MGB Criminal Background Check within 45 days prior to start date and updated if break >6 months.
- MGB Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date and updated if break >6 months.
- MGB Resume including past 7 years of work experience required for submission.
- Two references within 4 years required for submission, minimum one supervisor or above.
- MGB Skills Checklist must be completed within 1 year of submission.
- MGB Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form required for all initial assignments and extensions.
- MGB Education Verification through background check company.
- MGB SSN Trace must be run with criminal check.
- MGB National Sex Offender Check within 30 days of start and updated annually.
- MGB Exclusion Checks within 30 days of start and annually.
- MGB Candidate Submission Coversheet required for submission to initial assignment and new facility.
