Overview: We are seeking a patient and dedicated GED Instructor to provide academic support to individuals in recovery for mental health and substance use disorders. You will play a vital role in helping our clients build the educational foundation necessary for long-term success and self-sufficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruction: Teach core GED subjects (Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies) in a small group or individual setting.
- Assessment: Evaluate student levels and create customized study plans.
- Support: Maintain a trauma-informed, encouraging, and structured classroom environment.
- Progress Tracking: Monitor attendance and testing readiness; coordinate with the clinical team to support student goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree (Education or Behavioral Science preferred).
- Experience teaching adult learners or "at-risk" populations.
- Strong professional boundaries and a trauma-informed approach.
- Ability to motivate students facing non-traditional barriers to education.
