Job Title: Electronics Technician - Direct Placement
Job Description
Join our dynamic team as an Electronics Technician, working primarily on the 1st Shift from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. You'll be immersed in the manufacturing environment for about half the year, with the other half spent traveling domestically and internationally to Canada, Mexico, and Europe. Your role will involve servicing sensors within farms and other organizations.
Responsibilities
- Test, calibrate, and perform final assembly for sensor-related products using voltage input/output testing, a frequency generator, oscilloscope, digital multimeter, and other test equipment.
- Configure and test PC control systems to verify functionality and integration with wireless communication components.
- Configure products to meet customer-specified applications and perform electrical testing, adjustments, circuitry-level troubleshooting, and mechanical assembly.
- Calibrate products, perform final tests, and validate orders for customers. Modify units as needed for special requirements.
- Provide pre- and post-sale phone, email, technical, and field support. Facilitate system upgrades and periodic maintenance events.
- Conduct pre-sale field site assessments to ensure proper configuration of the HazardPRO system, verifying signal integrity, antenna placement, network integration, and other application-specific assessments.
- Perform product commissioning and training at customer facilities. Validate system performance and integration with factory automation systems. Train operators on system use and maintenance.
- Collaborate with engineering to improve products, test prototypes, and debug first-run products.
- Discuss layout and assembly procedures with engineers and troubleshoot problems.
- Write up customer returns, analyze product problems, evaluate repair options, and advise clients on repair status.
- Create demos and test fixtures for sales, marketing, and tradeshows.
- Assist with writing technical repair manuals and proofreading or writing product manuals.
- Instruct and train the production team on product assembly and testing.
- Maintain test equipment by recalibrating or ordering new equipment as needed.
- Work with production or inventory stockroom as required.
- Utilize the database system to contact and track client, repair, and customization information.
- Support Quality Management System process, procedures, and record keeping.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in electronics, troubleshooting, PCB repair, and technician tasks.
- Strong soldering skills and experience with hand tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
- Capability to write technical reports and procedure manuals.
- Experience in effectively presenting information and responding to questions from managers, clients, and the public.
- Competence in training customers on equipment use, repair, and maintenance.
- Must be able to organize and prioritize workload independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong PC skills and communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- An Associate Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or three years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of networking, VPN, firewall, IP routing, and network security is a plus.

Work Environment
The work environment is clean and small, primarily within the warehouse or stockroom. It involves a mix of sitting and standing throughout the workday. Employees should be comfortable working at heights of up to 250 feet and in elevated industrial environments, both indoors and outdoors. A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required, along with the ability to obtain a passport and drive rental vehicles for travel to customer facilities.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $60320.00/yr.
