POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Think Tank is a woman-owned small business with more than 27 years of proven success delivering exceptional IT and marine fisheries services to the federal government. We are currently seeking an ideal candidate for the position of Project Manager to support an upcoming proposal with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Résumé of successful candidate(s) will be included with our proposal.

The Project Manager oversees the execution of scientific research initiatives supporting protected marine species. This role ensures timely delivery of objectives by coordinating team efforts, managing data flow, and ensuring compliance with reporting, permitting, and quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate research projects including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Ensure project compliance with NOAA protocols and permit requirements.
  • Track progress, deliverables, and communications for multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Support cruise planning, field logistics, and post-survey reporting.
  • Facilitate communication among scientists, technicians, contractors, and NOAA leadership.
  • Manage and report budgets, timelines, and project milestones.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental science, project management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing complex scientific or ecological projects.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with government protocols (e.g., MMPA, ESA, NEPA) and permitting processes.
  • Proficient in data management, document preparation, and stakeholder engagement.
