Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Medical Coder to support our primary care and behavioral health services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coding for both general medical and behavioral health services, with experience in Medicare Annual Wellness Visits and credentialing preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately code diagnoses and procedures for both primary care and behavioral health services
- Review clinical documentation to ensure proper coding and billing compliance
- Collaborate with providers and staff to clarify documentation and support coding accuracy
- Process and manage billing for Medicare Annual Wellness Visits
- Support credentialing processes for providers and facilities
- Monitor claims for accuracy and address denials as needed
- Stay current with coding guidelines, insurance regulations, and payer requirements
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent (not an apprentice CPC-A)
- Minimum 2 years of medical coding experience required
- Experience in Behavioral Health billing highly preferred
- Familiarity with Medicare Annual Wellness Visits coding requirements
- Experience with credentialing is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
