Job DescriptionKelly Services is looking for a Staff Accountant for a leading manufacturing company in Norwood, MA.
- Shift: 8-430pm
- Salary: $70k
Responsibilities:Responsible for overall accounting operations, focusing on month-end reporting, maintaining accounting records, managing cash accounts, and preparing payroll weekly.
- Maintain accounting policies/procedures documentation.
- Month-end reconciliations: fixed assets, AR, sales/invoicing, credit card activity, payroll, and more.
- Cash management: daily bank reconciliations, weekly check runs, ACH/wire payments.
- Vendor invoice processing: account posting, PO matching, variance reconciliation.
- Manage vendor W-9s and year-end 1099 mailings.
- Expense report review.
- Time off management and monthly reporting.
- Weekly payroll processing: pay rates, PTO, reimbursements, deductions, 401K, loan repayments.
- AR management: collections, credit memos, customer reconciliations.
- Maintain sales tax/reseller certificates in AvaTax.
- Reconcile online store and credit card activities to general ledger.
- Book credit card activity monthly.
- Report on scrap, vendor, and marketing spend vs budget.
- Support interim/year-end audit requests.
- Comply with government reporting/tax filing requirements.
- Serve as backup for Administrative Assistant.
- Support ad hoc projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Preferred ERP/MRP and cost accounting experience.
- Manufacturing sector experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to stay positive under high-pressure situations.
