If so, then we are in search of YOU! Trinity Products is in search of a Sandblaster to support our finishing processes for our steel products. Position is 1st Shift (Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm). This role is responsible for using specialized high-pressure equipment to remove rust, mill scale and paint from fabricated components so coating and paints will adhere correctly. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial sandblasting, surface preparation, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare steel pipe surfaces for coating applications, including cleaning, blasting, and priming.
- Operate Blasting Equipment to safely handle high-pressure hoses, blast pots, and nozzles to clean, smooth, or etch steel surfaces.
- Blast away surface imperfections, including rust, mill scale, grease, tar, and old paint.
- Inspect steel parts before and after blasting to ensure the cleanliness and surface roughness meet industry specifications for painting and coating.
- Load and unload abrasive blasting media (e.g., steel grit, sand, or shot) into hoppers and blast pots.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machines, nozzles, and air compressors to keep them running efficiently.
- Serve as a back-up to our Industrial Painter/Coater using various methods such as spraying, brushing, or dipping, following company and industry standards.
- Follow safety protocols and environmental regulations related to coating materials and processes.
- Collaborate with quality control and production teams to address defects and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of coating applications, material usage, and quality inspections.
- Assist in troubleshooting coating issues and optimizing application techniques for efficiency and consistency.
- Participate in training programs to stay updated on coating technologies and best practices
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED; vocational training in industrial sandblasting/coating or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in industrial sandblasting or surface preparation.
- Ability to operate sandblasting and surface preparation equipment safely and effectively.
- Familiarity with different coating materials, application techniques, and curing processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in a manufacturing environment.
- Team player with effective communication skills and a willingness to learn.
