Job Opportunity: Brake Press Operator
We are actively seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Brake Press Operator to join a growing team in a sheet metal fabrication environment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating brake press machinery and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and precision.
Job Type: Full-time position with an expected 40–50+ hours per week
Work Location: Frederick, CO
Training Shift: First shift (6:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Regular Shift: Second shift (3:30 PM – 12:00 AM)
Pay Rate: $19–$24/hr, depending on experience (DOE)
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate brake press machinery to bend, form, and shape sheet metal parts according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and production schedules to determine machine setup and operation.
- Set up and adjust tooling, machine settings, and material positioning to ensure accurate part production.
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality, making adjustments as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all safety procedures and using proper PPE.
- Use measuring tools (calipers, gauges, tape measures) to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Log job data and production information using internal tracking systems.
- Assist with material handling, including loading/unloading metal sheets.
- Support team members and contribute to meeting production deadlines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–2 years of experience operating a brake press (Amada or similar equipment preferred).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with basic math and measurement tools.
- Willingness to train on first shift before transitioning to second shift.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs.
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and standing for extended periods (8–10 hours/day).
- Manual dexterity to operate machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels and exposure to machinery.
