Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years CVOR RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with specialization in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) skills. This role offers the chance to work in a dynamic surgical environment supporting cardiovascular procedures, providing critical patient care before, during, and after surgery.
Location:Positioned in Clear Lake, Iowa, this role serves a community known for its friendly atmosphere, local recreational activities, and access to natural beauty including lakes and parks. Clear Lake combines small-town charm with conveniences, making it an appealing place to live and work.
Schedule:
- Mostly day shifts
- 8-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- Approximately 10-12 days of on-call duty per month
- On-call every third weekend
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to provide expert nursing care in the cardiovascular OR
- Prepare patients for surgery, monitor vital signs, and assist during procedures
- Manage post-operative care and ensure patient safety in the recovery phase
- Maintain sterile techniques and ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols
- Respond promptly and appropriately during on-call hours to support emergent cardiovascular cases
Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure with CVOR experience
- Ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary surgical team
- Strong clinical skills and attention to detail under pressure
- Excellent communication and critical thinking abilities
