Summary
Responsible for developing new business, underwriting, structuring, and closing of loans, as well as maintaining and servicing an existing portfolio. Represents the bank in the community through active participation in community affairs and participates in marketing of the bank’s products and services
Supervisor Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Solicits loans and informs prospective loan clients of the financial institution’s underwriting guidelines and applicable government regulations.
- Negotiates terms and structures loan financing based on risk consideration and present credits for approval to appropriate levels of authority with the bank as required.
- Completes each loan application and all pre-processing functions in a timely manner to meet established guidelines.
- Monitors an existing loan portfolio to ensure proper risk ratings and early identification of potential problems. Collects past due loans.
- Maximizes bank profitability through appropriate pricing of new loan originations, fee income, and selling of all bank products and services.
- Supports the bank’s relationship banking culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service, and superior product knowledge.
- Daily review, approval and disposition of overdrafts.

- Possesses strong client service and interpersonal skills. Has excellent networking and business development practices.
- Ability to read and comprehend training materials, financial institution communications and related loan manuals.
- Outstanding organizational and analytical skills required.
- Familiarity with computers and banking applications/software.
