Position Type: Contract
Shift / Schedule: First shift with call, staggered start time between 0700 and 0830 for 5x8 hours/day M-F. Weekends and evenings/nights on call rotation. The traveler rotates Primary call and Back up call with other team members (so we can provide round the clock coverage). Primary call is one day approximately every 4 weeks and the weekend every 5th-6th weekend. Back up call is approximately 7 days (to include a weekend) every 9 weeks.
Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
Job Summary
This Interventional Radiology position requires a skilled Radiology Technologist with minimum 1 year of experience and prior traveler experience to support a high-volume inpatient hospital program. The role involves performing all IR procedures including stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephograms, kyphoplasty, peripherals, biopsies, drainages, upper and lower extremity, abd and pelvic, genitourinary studies, vascular studies, venous access and neurological studies. Candidates must be comfortable with both neuro procedures (to include stroke intervention) and body procedures, working with a patient population that is majority adults and geriatrics, with some adolescents. Daily case load averages 13-17 procedures. RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite; any call offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all Interventional Radiology procedures including stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephograms, kyphoplasty, peripherals, biopsies, drainages, upper and lower extremity, abd and pelvic, genitourinary studies, vascular studies, venous access and neurological studies
- Support neuro procedures to include stroke intervention
- Operate Siemens and Phillips x-ray equipment
- Utilize PACS systems for imaging management and workflow
- Handle contrast administration as required for procedures
- Rotate Primary call and Back up call with other team members to provide round the clock coverage
- Participate in hospital orientation during week one; be available for classes each day
Education Requirements
- BLS certification required
- ARRT certification required
- ARRT Advanced Cert preferred
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience required
- Traveler experience required; does not accept 1st time travelers
- Inpatient hospital experience required
- Neuro experience required
