Target Candidate Profile:
We are actively targeting individuals with prior technical or functional roles on the Federal Electronic Health Record Modernization (FEHRM) initiativeparticularly:

  • Former Leidos engineers and integrators who worked on the VA EHR Modernization (EHRM) or DoD MHS Genesis accounts
  • Recently released VA personnel or contractors who supported EHR deployment, system integration, site readiness, or data migration
  • Professionals with hands-on deployment experience at Lovell FHCC or other joint VA/DoD facilities

About the Program:
Youll join a fast-growing FEHRM support team working with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, Defense Health Agency, U.S. Coast Guard, and NOAA to deploy a single, interoperable federal EHR. This includes restarting wave-based VA rollouts, expanding Joint Sharing Site integration, and implementing a cloud-first infrastructure.

Historical EHR Deployments Youll Support and Build On:

  • AHLTA was deployed globally by DoD in the early 2000s as a predecessor to MHS Genesis
  • MHS Genesis was deployed across military treatment facilities between 2017 and 2024
  • The first joint VA/DoD deployment at Lovell FHCC went live in March 2024, setting the model for future interoperability
  • FEHRM continues to expand site readiness, implement shared playbooks, and enable capabilities like Care quality health information exchange and immunization interoperability

Your Role in the Launchpad for Future Deployments:
The Lovell FHCC experience is now being used as a model for upcoming VA wave deployments scheduled to begin in 2026. These roles are essential to preparing the ground, scaling implementation playbooks, aligning with technical architecture, and ensuring operational readiness.

Key Priorities for This Role Include:

  • Supporting technical site readiness and integration at joint DoD/VA facilities (Lovell FHCC and others)
  • Leading or contributing to VA wave-based EHR rollout prep and execution
  • Driving Cerner-to-Cerner interoperability and data exchange across VA and DoD environments
  • Planning and implementing cutovers, data migration, and legacy EHR decommissioning
  • Aligning architecture and infrastructure with FEHRMs cloud-first strategy
  • Conduct assessments of joint sharing sites to determine where Federal Electronic Health Record Modernization (FEHRM) support may be needed
  • Identify and report on risks and issues associated with asynchronous deployment across joint sites
  • Analyze sharing agreement lists provided by the DoD/VA Program Office and VA/DOD Medical Sharing Office
  • Serve as domain expert and first point of contact for the application and delivery of Business Operations products across MHS GENESIS and related systems
  • Support development of decision-making materials, communications, and project documentation
  • Drive strategic thinking around strategic initiatives, integrated master schedule, key programmatic processes, metrics, and tooling

These positions are open to professionals who bring hands-on FEHRM-aligned experience in one of three functional areas:

Strategic and Programmatic Roles:
Product Owner, Program Analyst, Risk Manager, Agile Delivery Lead

Technical and Delivery Roles:
Systems Integrator, Implementation Lead, Cybersecurity Engineer, Interface SME

Site-Level and Joint Sharing Roles:
Technical Advisors supporting Lovell FHCC, other FHCCs, or shared VA/DoD medical centers
Professionals with JSS integration or asynchronous deployment experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 or more years of experience supporting FEHRM, VA EHRM, MHS Genesis, or joint site modernization
  • Real-world experience with Leidos, Oracle Cerner, Cerner Millennium, HealthShare, or similar platforms
  • Demonstrated success in technical or coordination-heavy roles during large-scale EHR implementations
  • Understanding of HL7, FHIR, federal cybersecurity requirements, and cloud-based infrastructure
  • U.S. Citizenship

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Agile or SAFe certification (CSPO, SAFe PO/PM, PMP)
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint
  • Prior experience with Lovell FHCC, JSS deployments, or DHA contracting experience
  • Experience with VA wave rollout schedules, Cerner data migration, or cloud transition plans
  • Knowledge of government policies and procedures related to product development and deployment
  • Client service experience with both executive and mid-level stakeholders
  • Ability to facilitate discussions, manage competing priorities, and resolve conflicts
