Department Information:
We operate a dynamic and fast-paced 30-bed Medical/Surgical unit catering to both adult and pediatric patients. Our primary focus is on adults aged 18 and older, although we also accommodate 1-2 pediatric patients monthly. Our diverse patient population includes those recovering from surgeries such as knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, as well as procedures for colon resections, bariatric surgery, sepsis, pancreatitis, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, and stable pneumothorax. We maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, supported by Patient Care Associates. Our unit is characterized by knowledgeable, dedicated, and compassionate coworkers who exemplify teamwork and empathy.
Qualifications:

Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.

Licensure: Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the state of employment, including meeting all state board of nursing requirements.

Physical Requirements: The role necessitates the ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Prolonged standing and walking are required during each shift, along with the capacity to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed.

Certifications:

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or successful completion of the course within 30 days of hire.

Additional unit-specific certifications as required, to be obtained within the designated timeframe.
