CTG's premier client has a contract assignment for a Technical Writer I.
Type: Contract
Job Title: Technical Writer I
Location: Saginaw, MI
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Saginaw, MI
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Education: Associate degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Description:
This position supports a start-up site and will focus on creating new documentation, including SOPs and technical processes and procedures. The Technical Writer I will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop, edit, and standardize documentation for a variety of technical and operational processes.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, write, edit, and format technical documentation including process manuals, system specifications, guideline documents, and procedure manuals
• Collaborate with teams across departments to gather and interpret information for documentation needs
• Standardize content across platforms and media to ensure consistency and clarity
• Review and edit existing documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with standards
• Work closely with project teams to understand product details and translate them into appropriate content
• Convert complex technical concepts into user-friendly documentation
• Conduct periodic reviews and updates to ensure all documentation reflects the most current processes and procedures
Requirements:
• 1–3 years of experience as a Technical Writer (manufacturing industry preferred)
• Experience working with cross-functional teams
• Proficient in MS Office and documentation tools
• Ability to translate technical information into clear, concise documentation
Required Qualifications:
Education:
• Associate degree in a relevant field (additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
Qualifications:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven experience in a technical writing role
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Experience in a manufacturing or technical environment is a plus
