Assignment Type: Direct Hire (Permanent)

Pay: $70,000 – $75,000 / year (flexible for highly qualified candidates)

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM; flexibility required based on the Congressional calendar. Primarily remote with onsite presence approximately twice per month.

With a tight-knit team environment, this organization advises a diverse portfolio of corporate and association clients on legislative strategy and engagement. The Scheduler / Executive Assistant will directly support the Founder & Principal and play a central role in keeping business and personal operations running efficiently.

Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Scheduler / Executive Assistant to provide high-level administrative and personal support to the firm’s Founder. This position requires ownership of a complex, high-volume calendar and the ability to coordinate across congressional offices, external stakeholders, and internal priorities. The role operates on a 60% executive support and 40% personal assistant split and requires someone who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling both strategic scheduling and hands-on tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and strategically coordinate an intricate executive calendar with shifting priorities
  • Schedule meetings with Capitol Hill offices, clients, and external partners
  • Arrange domestic travel and prepare itineraries
  • Draft correspondence and manage communications on behalf of the executive
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings and events
  • Assist with personal administrative matters including household/vendor coordination
  • Support family travel planning and vehicle logistics
  • Maintain discretion and professionalism across both business and personal matters

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience owning complex calendaring and executive support within a political, lobbying, or government relations environment
  • Experience supporting a senior executive, Member of Congress, or firm principal
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Comfortable working within a right-leaning political environment
  • Willingness to operate in a 60/40 executive-to-personal assistant capacity
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license for occasional travel between DC and Northern Virginia
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • Interested in building a long-term career in executive support or operations (not a transitional policy/comms role)

Additional Details:

  • Standard 40-hour workweek; hours may fluctuate depending on legislative activity.
  • Overtime eligible with supervisor approval.
  • Start date target: February 23.
  • Small team environment (approximately five employees). Reports directly to the Founder & Principal.
