Parma Tavern in Buford is Looking for an Expeditor (Expo)!

The food expeditor is essential for ensuring a smooth dining experience by managing the flow of orders between the waitstaff and the kitchen. This role involves coordinating and verifying orders, relaying them promptly, and ensuring they are prepared correctly, including special requests. The expeditor also adds final touches to each dish, focusing on presentation and quality control to maintain high standards. The expeditor can also be assigned the shift duty of handling to go orders. A passion for food and service is crucial, as the goal is to create memorable experiences for guests. Candidates should have a friendly personality, strong communication skills, and prior experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Rate of Pay: $10 an hour plus tips
Job Responsibilities:
- Facilitate communication in the kitchen by calling out orders, checking the status of dishes, and notifying the waitstaff when completed dishes are ready to be served.
- Inform the waitstaff when certain dishes or ingredients are out of stock and relay food requests from the waitstaff to the kitchen.
- Monitor portion sizes on completed dishes to ensure they meet restaurant standards.
- Ensure that all orders are completed in a timely manner, prioritizing them appropriately.
- Handle to go order when assigned.
- Inspect the cleanliness, presentation, and temperature of completed dishes.
- Perform finishing touches on completed dishes, such as adding garnishes and removing smudges.
- Keep cooking, storage, and prep areas clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Ensure all staff adhere to health and safety standards.
- Assist staff as needed.
- Handle customer complaints on behalf of the kitchen staff and work towards finding solutions.
- Consistently adhere to grooming and appearance standards.
- Stay updated on current menu items, special offerings, and any ingredient shortages in the kitchen. ? Contribute to team efforts by achieving related goals as needed.
- Perform basic cleaning tasks as directed by a supervisor.
- Fill in for absent staff as necessary.
- Assist with special events when required.
- Attend pre-shift and general meetings to stay informed about special offers, stock updates, and to discuss service and product matters.
- Protect the establishment and its patrons by following sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
- Other additional duties may include restocking bathroom supplies, cleaning windows of fingerprints, wiping down ledges, spot sweeping, cleaning high chairs/booster seats, restocking garnishes for food/bar, wiping down menus, restocking to-go supplies, and completing small daily cleaning tasks as outlined in daily and weekly cleaning lists.
- Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary.
- Follow the 10 Steps of Customer Service and maintain menu knowledge, adhering to all store policies and procedures.
