Location: Port Charlotte, FL
Shift: Full-Time Nights (Rotating Weekends)
Compensation: $27.09 – $37.92/hour (based on experience)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Position Overview

A leading healthcare laboratory organization is seeking skilled Medical Technologists for a hospital-based, rapid-response core laboratory supporting a large multi-facility healthcare network. This is a full-time night shift opportunity in a high-volume, fast-paced environment requiring accuracy, efficiency, and strong clinical judgment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise across multiple laboratory disciplines and the ability to work independently while maintaining quality and turnaround standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing across multiple specialties

• Analyze proficiency samples and maintain turnaround time targets

• Execute STAT procedures and adhere to quality control protocols

• Manage and communicate critical results appropriately

• Apply independent judgment in result correlation and interpretation, including delta checks

• Complete required documentation and review pending logs

• Identify and resolve workflow or workload issues

• Provide department oversight in the absence of a supervisor

Qualifications

• Associate Degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field preferred

• Active Florida Medical Technologist License (Required) – Generalist strongly preferred

• Minimum 1+ year of Medical Technologist experience required

• Experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Blood Bank

  • Serology

  • Chemistry

  • Hematology

  • Microbiology
