Job Duties:
Performs clerical duties in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison Records Office. Responsible for inmate record management, document processing, data entry, scanning, expungements, and interdepartmental collaboration, in strict compliance with EBR Parish Prison, East Baton Rouge Sheriff Office polices and procedures as well as legal standards.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, plus one year of full-time work experience or 30 semester hours of college
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Able to communicate effectively in person and on the telephone
- Able to perform general clerical duties such as filing, data entry, scanning, and typing
- Able to maintain confidentiality of information
- Regular attendance is required; employees are expected to arrive on time and be ready to work every day they are scheduled to to work
Compensation and Benefits:
- $33,260 starting annual salary

- Retirement Plan -- Louisiana Sheriff's Pension and Relief Fund is a defined benefit plan that allows employee contributions on a pre-tax basis. Employees contribute 10.25 % of their salaries to the retirement plan. Members do not pay social security (FICA) tax but they do pay Medicare tax.
- Louisiana Deferred Compensation Plan is a voluntary retirement saving vehicle. Employees may choose to contribute tax-free dollars to save for retirement. The plan is similar to a 401(k) plan offered in private industry, but there is no employer match for employee contributions. It is a 457 plan.
