Position Summary:

Monitors Wellness Center and participants involved in various wellness and fitness activities. Promotes health and fitness, and encourages participants regarding safety, variety of activities, and proper techniques. Supports Community Life Director in day to day operations of the Wellness center.

Qualifications:

  • First Aide / CPR and AED Certification.
  • Previous experience in Exercise and Fitness.
  • Proficiency with using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience working with seniors preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Encourages and motivates clients to stay with their wellness and fitness plans.
  • Demonstrates various physical activities and proper body mechanics.
  • Observes clients and educates them of corrective measures for skill improvement.
  • Teaches and demonstrates use of exercise and training equipment, including machines and pool equipment.
  • Advises clients about proper clothing and shoes.
  • Assists with the daily operations of the Wellness center including preventative maintenance of equipment.
  • Orients interested clients in the proper and safe use of the facility’s fitness equipment.
  • Develops and nurtures rapport with clients.
  • Follows appropriate policies and procedures to provide a safe quality fitness/exercise program.
  • Reports equipment problems to Community Life Director.
  • Assist with testing, monitoring, and maintaining daily proper chemical levels in pool and spa.

Upon acceptance of an offer, candidates must be able to pass a drug screen, reference checks and background check prior to starting work with eliseo.

Upon first day of hire, all staff are required to provide documentation of influenza vaccination (Seasonally for Influenza). Additionally, all staff will undergo tuberculosis testing upon their first day and annually.
