Midtown Montessori Academy (an AMS Member School) is seeking a passionate, strong, and Native Spanish-speaking Montessori Lead Guide for a new Primary Spanish Immersion community for the 2022-2023 school year! Our classrooms are home to 26 children, supported by 1 Lead Guide and 3 Assistants. This classroom will follow a 90/10 (Spanish/English) Immersion model. All assistants in the community will be native Spanish Speakers.

Qualifications

    • Montessori Certified for ages 3-6 from a MACTE accredited teacher training program
    • ETC qualified for Preschool in the State of Colorado
    • Native Spanish speakers preferred
    • Preference will be given to candidates with a BA or BS or higher degree
    • Preference for a candidate proficient in the use of Microsoft OS, as well as iPads
    • Certified in CPR, First Aid, and Universal Precautions
      • MMA can provide training prior to the start date.
    • Medication Administration Certification a plus
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in Montessori Primary classrooms
    • A criminal record that does not include any felonies, any crimes against children, any violent crimes, a pattern of misdemeanor convictions, or any conviction of any sort in the past 24 months.
    • Able to lift and turn while carrying at approximately 40 lbs. and sit on a tile floor for at least 60 mins.
    • This position has the opportunity to hold an Assistant Director title, with a title salary increase

Position Expectations

    • Take leadership of a classroom with 26 children and 3 assistant teachers.
    • Implement a daily curriculum that honors the Montessori philosophy and the individuality of each child in the classroom.
    • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of MACTE accreditation standards and implement practices in the classroom.
    • Prepare appropriate lessons for each child based on observation
    • Monitor student progress (academic, motor, social-emotional)
    • Work in alignment with the Primary Team Lead and Administration developing and implementing the school’s strategic vision.
    • Collaborate extensively with other lead teachers.
    • Maintain a beautifully prepared, organized, clean, safe, and stimulating environment for the children.
    • Manage classroom staff, modeling appropriate and professional behavior at all times.
    • Prepare and submit internal and external reports and documents in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and school standard operating procedures including but not limited to: daily recordkeeping for each child’s academic progress, injury/accident reports, and medication logs.
    • Develop a monthly email for parents detailing the month’s activities through photographs and descriptions.
    • Attend and participate in weekly Primary community meetings, monthly meetings with the Head of School, and monthly school-wide meetings with all staff.
    • Build respectful, collaborative relationships with parents and colleagues.
    • Respectfully delegate duties to assistant staff and monitor their work.
    • Work with leadership to develop an individual professional development plan.
    • Rotate materials regularly based on observation of needs and interests of the community
    • Effectively utilize daily planning period on-site from 3:45-4:30.
  • This position has the opportunity but is not required to accept the position, to act as Assistant Director of Midtown Montessori Academy. For additional information on the roles and responsibilities of an Assistant Director, please reach out with questions.
  • Pay is $21.00-$28.50 per hour, equivalent.
  • A $500 Signing Bonus will be paid after successful employment of 90 days!
